Specialist and Hospital Care

If a GP or another member of our health care team believes you need hospital treatment or specialist care elsewhere, you will be referred electronically to a local provider. If you wish to be treated elsewhere the secretaries will do their best to accommodate your wishes if this service has been commissioned by the ICB.  If we have a mobile number on your records, you will be sent a text confirmation once your referral has been made. 

Currently all referrals are triaged by the hospital teams before appointments are offered, to ensure that you are seen in the most appropriate clinic.  The surgery has no control over hospital wait times.
